Capacity-Building Expert for FCDO COAST Project
FCDO COAST Programme / Marine Market Systems
Support local organizations in Mozambique's coastal provinces to strengthen their capacity for project conceptualization, proposal writing, implementation and reporting. This role will establish and lead Coastal Marine Ecosystem Clusters in Inhambane and Zambezia provinces, providing hands-on capacity building and technical assistance to community-based organizations working on marine conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and lead Coastal Marine Ecosystem Clusters at provincial level in Inhambane and/or Zambezia
- Co-create grant ideas with cluster members for COAST Facility funding through facilitated sessions
- Support at least 3 local organizations per province to implement grant activities with on-the-job training
- Conduct capacity building needs assessments and develop training packages for local organizations
- Facilitate proposal development including budgeting and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Provide ongoing technical and management support to cluster members
- Develop longer-term sustainability frameworks and capacity building approaches
Requirements
- Proven experience in capacity building for local organizations, particularly in proposal development and project management
- Academic qualifications in environmental management or related field from recognized university
- Strong experience with marine ecosystems management, fisheries, or coastal conservation
- Deep understanding of local communication norms in Mozambique, particularly Inhambane and Zambezia provinces
- Fluency in local languages (60% of team should have local language capacity) and Portuguese
- Experience leading consortiums and facilitating co-creation sessions with community-based organizations
- Track record providing advisory services to organizations on environmental issues
- Understanding of GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion) principles
Blue Economy Expert for IADB Caribbean Blue Economy Assessment

Lead technical expert for comprehensive blue economy assessment across Caribbean nations, focusing on sustainable marine resource management, policy development, and investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive blue economy assessments
- Engage with government stakeholders and local communities

- Prepare technical reports and presentations
Requirements
- Advanced degree in marine science, economics, or related field
- 10+ years experience in blue economy development
- Strong knowledge of Caribbean marine ecosystems
