Sérgio is a seasoned policy and conservation leader with over 30 years of experience across government, the private sector, and donor-funded programs.
As Mozambique's former National Director of Forestry and Wildlife, he helped shape landmark land and conservation policies and played a pivotal role in establishing the Niassa Reserve.
He later led private sector engagement as Country Manager for Vale Mozambique and Executive Director of CTA. In the marine space, Sérgio supported biodiversity and coastal policy reforms under USAID SPEED+ and led eco-tourism value chain studies. At MMS, he bridges conservation and commerce to advance inclusive, nature-positive marine solutions.
